BMO InvestorLine “Real Financial Progress” Offer 常見問題
This is an opportunity to level up your investment journey, whether you’re saving for your first home, a child’s education, or retirement and receive expert help from our financial planners.
The offer has two exciting components: a Cash Back Award 以及 Contest. Eligible clients may receive up to $30,000 in total cash back after two holding periods, and eligible contest entrants can earn entries for a chance to win one Grand Prize of $300,000 or one of two Secondary Prizes of $100,000. Contest prizes also include financial planning support from a BMO Investments Professional subject to the offer terms.
This offer is available to both new and existing BMO InvestorLine clients, as long as they meet the eligibility requirements and satisfy the offer terms. To participate in the contest component of the offer, clients must be residents of Canada, have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, and satisfy all other terms. Employees of Bank of Montreal, BMO InvestorLine Inc., BMO Investments Inc., their respective affiliates and subsidiaries, and people domiciled with those employees, are not eligible to receive contest entries or win a contest prize.
Eligible clients must opt in during the Promotion Period, from September 1, 2026 to October 31, 2026. You can opt in by clicking the designated link in a BMO InvestorLine offer email, clicking a promotional banner in a BMO InvestorLine digital channel where available, or opening one or more Qualifying Accounts using promo code FINPROG. Using the promo code or another permitted opt-in method means you accept the offer terms, but submitting an opt-in does not guarantee eligibility.
The offer opt-in period runs from September 1, 2026 to October 31, 2026. Existing clients must fund by 2026年10月31日, while new clients must fund by 2026年11月30日. Mail-in contest essays must be received by 2026年11月30日, the contest draw is scheduled for 2027年2月1日, selected eligible entrants are contacted on 2027年2月2日, and contest prizes are scheduled to be fulfilled by March 15, 2027. For cash back, Holding Period 1 ends 2027年5月31日 with the first payout scheduled for 2027年6月28日, and Holding Period 2 ends 2027年11月30日 with the second payout scheduled for 2027年12月23日。
Net New Assets, or NNA, means cash and/or securities sourced from outside BMO 財富管理. Assets that were already held before the start of the Promotion Period in accounts with BMO InvestorLine Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., BMO Private Investment Counsel Inc., or BMO Investments Inc. do not count as NNA. BMO Employee Share Ownership Plan transfers also do not qualify. Qualifying Accounts include BMO InvestorLine Self-Directed or adviceDirect Cash or Margin accounts, including individual or joint accounts, Corporate, Sole Proprietorship, TFSA, 註冊退休儲蓄計劃(RRSP), RRIF賬戶, FHSA配偶 註冊退休儲蓄計劃(RRSP), and Spousal RRIF賬戶 accounts, subject to final confirmation in the terms.
To qualify for the Cash Back Award 以及 contest Funding Path, you must fund one or more Qualifying Accounts with at least $10,000 in Net New Assets by the applicable funding deadline. The minimum funding requirement applies to the cash back component and to contest entries earned through funding. The contest also has a no-purchase-necessary entry path. See terms and conditions for more details.
The Cash Back Award is calculated using a tiered rate: 2% cash back on the first $50,000 of qualifying Net New Assets, and 0.5% cash back on additional qualifying Net New Assets, up to a maximum total Cash Back Award of $30,000. For example, the terms show that $10,000 in qualifying NNA corresponds to a $200 Cash Back Award, $50,000 corresponds to $1,000, $100,000 corresponds to $1,250, and $5,850,000 or more reaches the $30,000 maximum award.
Cash back is paid in two installments, provided you continue to meet the offer requirements for each holding period. The first installment is scheduled for June 28, 2027, after Holding Period 1, and the second installment is scheduled for December 23, 2027, after Holding Period 2. If you hold one Qualifying Account, the cash back is deposited into that account; if you hold multiple accounts, it is deposited first to a non-registered Cash account, if available, and then to a non-registered Margin account, if available. If you have multiple Qualifying Accounts but no non-registered account, you are required to open a non-registered account to receive the Cash Back Award.
To stay eligible, you must keep at least $10,000 in qualifying Net New Assets through each applicable holding period. The Cash Back Award is based on the lowest NNA Funding Amount maintained in your Qualifying Account or accounts during the holding period and any prior holding period, not the ending or average balance. Withdrawals across any BMO InvestorLine accounts during the holding periods are deducted from your NNA Funding Amount, and if withdrawals cause your NNA Funding Amount to fall below $10,000 during a holding period, you will not qualify for a Cash Back Award. Market fluctuations do not affect NNA for cash back purposes; deposits and withdrawals are what affect the eligibility and award calculation.
Under the contest Funding Path, eligible clients earn one contest entry for each $1 of qualifying Net New Assets, up to a maximum of 5,000,000 entries. A minimum of $10,000 in NNA is required, and you must continuously maintain the NNA until the draw date to maintain your contest entries. Participants will be informed of the number of eligible contest entries they have earned one day before the draw date, subject to final validation, verification, and correction by BMO InvestorLine.
是。No purchase, deposit, investment, or funding is necessary to enter the contest. To enter without funding, eligible clients can use the no-purchase-necessary path by submitting eligible hand-written mail-in essays on the topic: “How $100,000 or more would help me make real financial progress.” Each essay must be original, hand-written, at least 200 words, and include the required contact and account information. One eligible essay earns 5,000 entries, each additional eligible essay earns 1,000 additional entries, and the maximum is 5,000,000 entries. Mail-in entries must be received by 2026年11月30日. If you try to qualify through both the Funding Path and the no-purchase-necessary path, entries are not combined; you receive eligible entries from whichever path results in more entries, and the other entries are void.
有 three contest prizes: one Grand Prize of $300,000 plus financial planning support, and two Secondary Prizes of $100,000 each plus financial planning support. On 2027年2月1日, three eligible entries are scheduled to be selected at random from all eligible entries received: one for the Grand Prize and two for the Secondary Prizes. Selected eligible entrants are contacted by email on 2027年2月2日 and must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question and return the required documents within the stated timeframe before being declared winners. Contest prizes are scheduled to be awarded by March 15, 2027, subject to the declared winners satisfying all contest requirements. Cash prizes are deposited first to a non-registered Cash account, if available, and then to a non-registered Margin account, if available; the terms state that a non-registered account is required to receive a contest prize.
Along with their cash prizes, the 3 contest winners will each be paired with a BMO Investments Professional, who will reach out to contest winners by March 15, 2027. They will set up a discovery meeting with the client to discuss their financial goals and current financial position. They will then provide a financial plan for the client. This component of the contest prize is optional, meaning that contest winners can decline the opportunity to work with a BMO Investments Professional. We cannot guarantee any in-person appointments, but efforts will be made to assign a BMO Investments Professional in close geographic proximity to each contest winner. A remote BMO Investments Professional may be assigned.
註腳星號詳細資訊 No purchase or investment required to enter or win $300,000 contest. Investing does not increase your chances of winning. See full Terms and Conditions.
